It?s real. 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Over 260,000 new cases of breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in the United States, in 2010. And although a small percentage, even men are included in these disheartening statistics. Worse, African-American women are more likely to die from breast cancer, as we tend to have more aggressive tumors. And for all women in the United States, breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, excluding lung cancer.
Clutch and Frugivore magazine have teamed up with The Denise Roberts Breast Cancer Foundation to educate and inspire you to join the fight against breast cancer. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thus, we?ll be publishing articles that will empower every woman and man to improve their breast health.
