BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER / DIRECTOR - EXCITING ROLE, CANADA BASED!
My client is a dynamic and creative hospitality corporation specializing in cutting edge dining, leisure and entertainment experiences through owned brands and businesses, franchising, creative consultancy and management. My client has significant expansion plans and there is now an extremely exciting opportunity for a driven and talented hospitality professional to join a growing team of young industry specialists as Business Support Manager for their domestic and international operations.
The BSM will be charged with strengthening the operational standards and systems across six cornerstone restaurants in Montreal and will be responsible for the critical path management and the Business Support Team of the overseas projects. Additionally the BSM will be the key liaison to existing franchise operations in Europe and the Middle East. The BSM will be based at the head office in Montreal though the job requires extensive travelling.
The role requires a superstar with a proven track record in the restaurant industry. Candidates should be completely fluent, written and spoken, in French and English. Spanish is an advantage for the BSM but not a necessity. The BSM needs to have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to manage complex corporate and franchise relationships. Equally, he or she needs to be commercially very savvy and meticulous in operational planning and execution. Opening experience is essential.
Key Experience / Qualities Required:
*Candidates should have proven and successful track record in senior roles within top-end and volume restaurant & bar operations
*Candidate should demonstrate such professionalism, talent and expertise that they would positively challenge both the business and the management
*The selected individual would need to fit within a direct style of management and must demonstrate ability to deliver and complete tasks - independently and within teams
*The Business Support Manager must consider the position on a long-term basis in order to develop a feel for the business thus being able to make a real impact
*Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of ambition and be success-driven
*Although the job clearly requires an individual who has an overall vision for the business, they need to be flexible in their approach to their working systems
*Competent in the use of general IT systems
*Competent in financial management
Candidates should be adaptable, responding quickly and positively to the many changing requirements and local cultures, which will mean getting involved in procedures, projects and management beyond the responsibilities described in this job brief.
Fluent English and French is a requirement, Spanish beneficial
Location: Based in Montreal, Canada, significant international travel required.
