Apple reportedly re-hires Paul Deneve to work on

Re-invigorate Apple Retail? Make amazing straps for the iWatch? New matching jackets for the next Keynote? No one's saying exactly what Paul Deneve will be doing when he returns to Apple after serving as CEO of Saint Laurent (formerly Yves Saint Laurent), but Bloomberg's Adam Satariano, following up on a rumor from Apple Insider is saying he'll be reporting directly to Tim Cook and working on "special projects".

Apple hires former CEO of the fashion house Yves Saint Laurent. Apple says he'll report to CEO Tim Cook on "special projects," not retail

After cleaning up their org chart last year, it's odd to see Apple adding more direct reports to Tim Cook, and someone whose previous jobs were all retail-focused, when Apple has yet to find a new head of retail. Maybe they learned a lesson with their last, ill-fated retail hire, and will let Deneve ramp up first, or focus on certain aspects, outside the pressures and spotlight of the retail VP spot.

Either way, Tim Cook's Apple continues to surprise. If anyone has any other guesses as to Denve's roll, put them in the comments!
